As March Madness tips off this week around the country, 12th-ranked EMCC will make its first appearance in the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. The 63rd annual national junior college hoops tournament will be held March 16-20 at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kan. EMCC won its opening game Tuesday against Brunswick, N.C., but lost to Navarro College of Texas on Wednesday. EMCC meets Northwest Florida State College Thursday at 4:30 p.m. |

HONORS ORIENTATION AND REGISTRATION If you are graduating from high school this spring, and have an ACT score of 21 or higher, you can avoid the crowds at fall registration at East Mississippi Community College. You’re invited to an early Honors Orientation and Registration Friday, March 26, at the Golden Triangle and Scooba campuses. Registration gets under way at 10 a.m. at both locations. MACON ART EXHIBIT
The Macon Welcome Center is hosting an exhibit of artwork by East Mississippi Community College students until March 25. The collection, curated by Mississippi artist Martha Stennis, features paintings and drawings, two- and three-dimensional designs and pottery pieces. As a special feature, the exhibit also includes metal castings poured during the winter at the Soule Live Steam Festival in Meridian. The Welcome Center is on Jefferson Street in downtown Macon.
